Mediterranean Identities

The Summer School Mediterranean Identities is a two-week program in English with interdisciplinary approach to humanities. Participants are undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and teachers in humanities and social sciences. During the two exciting weeks, international participants will attend intensive courses, afternoon workshops, evening round tables, discover local Mediterranean culture (on the border between Slovenia, Croatia and Italy) during field excursions and socialize with people from around the world.

The program is divided into a joint plenary session and in three courses:
Course A: Ethos in ethnos of the Mediterranean (coordinator: alenka.janko.spreizer@fhs.upr.si)
Course B: History and typology of places in the Mediterranean (coordinator: dragica.cec@fhs.upr.si)
Course C: Literary images of Mediterranean places: construction of the rhetoric of place (Coordinator: jonatan.vinkler@fhs.upr.si)

Who should come to it?
The School is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and teachers in humanities and social sciences.

Why come to META Humanities Summer School?
This year’s summer school will host renowned professors from Slovenia (University of Primorska, Faculty of Humanities, Slovenia; University of Klagenfurt, Austria; University of Teramo, Italy; University of Lodz, Poland; University of Regensburg, Germany; University of London, UK; University of Basque Country, Spain; University of Pecs, Hungary; University of Timisoara, Romania; University of Pula, Croatia; Hellenic Open University, Greece; University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic.
Participants will earn up to 6 credits (ECTS) which are internationally recognized.
All the lectures will be held in English.
Participants will acquire international and intercultural experience.
