Venue
University of Primorska, Faculty of Humanities Koper
Titov trg 5
SI-6000 Koper
Slovenia

The town of Koper, where the Faculty and the University are situated, as well as the whole of Slovene Istria are located in the broader northern Adriatic geographical area at the intersection of four states – Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, and Austria, and consequently at the intersection of the Slavonic, Germanic, and Romance worlds. Its characteristics and population have been shaped under the influence of several cultures and languages. Individual state formations have left indelible marks on this space and on the development of the nations living in this area. The legacy of historical process, multiculturalism, multilingualism, and natural geographical properties (i.e., the Mediterranean world stretching to the north toward snow-covered Alpine slopes just 150 km away) endow the area with unique characteristics.

The coastal city of Koper is situated 120km from the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and only 20km from the Trieste (Italy). It is the economic, cultural, educational and administrative centre of the Istria, the coastal region in the Northern Adriatic South of Trieste as well as of the Western Slovenia.
